Match the symptom before trying a fix

The September 18 v1.0.1 update and its two hotfixes address missing tools, terrain traps, several crashes, equipment-stat display and Adrian's Tentacle Cleanup task. Use the index below to distinguish a named fix from a recovery procedure that the developer has not documented [1].

Scope: Steam v1.0.1 and September 18 hotfixes; checked September 20, 2026. “Official fix” means the developer says the issue was addressed. It is not a claim that we reproduced or tested the fix on every save.

Your symptomOfficial statusWhat to check and what remains unknown
A tool disappearedv1.0.1 adds lost-tool recovery.Check Primary Storage, your inventory and the shop that originally sold it: these are the locations named in the notes. No guaranteed recovery timing is specified.
Character is trapped in terrainAn unstuck failsafe is described for already-affected saves.Confirm the update is installed. The notes do not give a manual activation method; this guide does not prescribe editing coordinates or deleting a save.
Equipment stats are blankThe first v1.0.1 hotfix addresses the equipment scene.Distinguish missing displayed stats from a missing item. The announcement is about the display, not item restoration.
Adrian's Tentacle Cleanup will not advanceHotfix #2 specifically names this task.Check for that hotfix. No required repeat dialogue or quest reset is stated; a different Adrian task is not automatically the same bug.
A crash follows moving stored itemsThe update lists a storage-movement crash fix and an item-loss safeguard.Describe the action and any error if it recurs. Neither note gives a universal procedure to restore previously lost non-tool items.
A crash follows radio playback, fog, or dust effectsThese are separate listed crash fixes.Identify which trigger matches your case. Radio-related failures could appear later, such as when opening the pause menu; “any crash” is too broad a match.
Interacting with animals crashes in a non-English languageThe update names this language-dependent crash.Include the selected language in a report. This does not establish that every animal-interaction problem has the same cause.
Stuttering or slow map/menu transitionsPerformance improvements and two Deck settings are announced.Use the Steam Deck display advice. Potential performance improvement is different from a guaranteed crash or stutter fix.

How to read the status

  • Official fix: named in the dated announcement, as shown in the index.
  • Official workaround: requires an explicit, supported procedure. No manual save-recovery workaround is established here.
  • Player report: a dated observation; it does not by itself prove a persistent post-hotfix defect.
  • Unknown: the source does not establish a recovery trigger or outcome. It is not evidence that your save is permanently broken.

The public July stutter discussion is historical context, not a verified list of issues remaining after September 18 [2]. This page does not label the Lost Farmer or Bug Catching Net questions as resolved.

If your symptom remains

  1. Match the version and trigger

Record the installed version where available, platform, language, exact action and any error text. Separate a blank stats panel from a lost item, or a crash from low frame rate.

  2. Check the named recovery locations only when relevant

The Primary Storage / inventory / original-shop check applies to the lost-tool safeguard. Do not generalize it to every missing object or quest reward.

  3. Describe the remaining issue

Use the game's Steam Community discussion area for a game report. Do not share account credentials or private files publicly. For an error in this guide, use Contact.
